Where is your store located and what are your hours?
We are located in East Rochester in the Techniplex Mall on the corner of W. Commercial Street and Main Street. Take I-490 to the East Rochester exit (exit 24/25). Stay straight onto W. Commercial Street - go 1 mile to the end of the road. We are located just inside the East Entrance. We do not have set store hours at the East Rochester loction. All orders need to be scheduled for pick-up or delivery Monday - Friday.
Are the meals cooked? Are they fresh or frozen?
We prepare the meals in our kitchen for you to cook in yours. Easy-to-follow cooking instructions are attached. Fresh or frozen? Your choice, but they do transport better when frozen.
Entrées that are baked or broiled will come in foil pans. Entrées that are cooked by stovetop, crockpot or grill will come in gallon-size zipper bags (with a few exceptions).
How often does the menu change?
Our menu changes the beginning of every month. If you really enjoyed one of our entrées, please let us know. Customer favorites can be repeated often.
Can the meals be customized for my family?
Make and Take Gourmet entrées are made to order so we prepare each meal just the way your family likes it. If you don't care for a particular ingredient, we can leave it out. We can also customize meals for any diet: low sodium, gluten-free, low fat, etc. If you have a particular allergy, just let us know. We can carefully go through each menu item to help you choose a meal that is right for you.
How many people does each entree serve? Can meals be split?
We currently offer 2 meal sizes. Full Size entrées are 6 servings each. They will feed 4-6 people, depending on appetite. Half Size entrées are 3 servings each. They will feed 2-3 people, depending on appetite. Since we offer meals to accomodate both large and small families, we do not split meals.
Are there any minimums required when placing an order?
There are no minimums to place an order for pick-up. There is a minimum amount for delivery orders depending on where the delivery is made. See "Delivery" for more information.
How do I place an order?
Orders my be phoned, emailed or placed online. Please allow a minimum of 2-4 days for your order to be completed. The end of each month is very busy and available spaces are limited - it is best to order as far in advance as possible.
How do I pay for my order?
You can pay for your order by credit card over our secure website or by phone. We also accept cash and personal checks at the time of pick-up or delivery.
Can I place an order for tonight?
We request 2-4 days advance notice for all orders. On occasion, we may be able to complete your meals sooner but as much notice as possible is appreciated. Please give us a call to discuss an earlier pick-up/delivery time.
Do I need to be home for delivery?
Being home for delivery is not necessary! Just leave a large cooler with ice by your front door for your meals. We can also make arrangements to place your meals in a garage refrigerator/freezer or leave with a neighbor.
Where do I go for "Curbside Pick-up"?
Drive up to the orange "Make and Take Gourmet" door located to the right of the East Entrance of the Techniplex Mall. Just ring the doorbell and we will bring your meals right out. There is no need to park.
Is it still possible for customers to come in and assemble their own meals?
No, unfortunately we no longer have meal prep stations for customers to assemble meals. We are now a pick-up and delivery service only.
